Baseball season is quickly approaching. The boy has been putting in serious work. We’ve spent the last eight weeks, going straight from school, three days a week, to a local training facility. The idea was to get stronger and work on his hitting. It may not look like much yet, but his broad shoulders definitely look stronger. And he’s now broad jumping close to eight of his feet, he started at five. The big difference is the bat speed. He hit a 73 on HitTrax, which made him super happy. Still needs to be faster but trending the right way.

So last night, he jumped at the opportunity to go hit at the local ball fields. We soft tossed it and he hit bomb after bomb to the outfield. Yes indeed, things are trending the right way.

On the pitching side. he’s been working the other days on strength training. And on Sunday, he works in a small group with an NPA local coach. It’s always a little edgy when he transitions from flat ground to a mound. And last night was no exception as he was a little all over the place, trying to locate pitches. Thankfully, we still have 4 weeks until the first games. Hopefully, he’ll have time to find his groove.

In other news, he recently finished his school semester. Straight As, with many of them A+. This kid has big dreams and is working hard to achieve them.
