WIR: 9/11

Today is the 25th Anniversary of 9/11. A day that seems long ago, another time, but yet all still real. I was at the office working in Philly when my parents called in a panic. The office itself suddenly came alive on that early morning. Many rushed to the conference room, gasping in astonishment. I stayed in the hallway nervously talking with staff. Suddenly, the all hands go home immediately came. I headed for my train to the northeast, boarded a packed frenzy train, and made it one stop before Amtrak shut the lines down. With no money and no real way home, I stumbled on two other ladies I recognized from my commute. We bonded together and went off looking for a cab, which was not easy as everyone was rushing to get home. Luckily, we found one and I made it home safely. It was blessing to hear Vicky, the older neighbor below me, thank goodness your home. Life can change in an instant. My heart goes out to those who suffered and lost family. May they rest in peace.

In other news, we spent Labor Day weekend down at the shore with Mike’s family. It was a gorgeous weekend. And Mike and I both bought kites. Let’s just say, one of us is a bit better at it than the other. I tend to firebomb mine right into the ground.

I took the pup for a walk on the beach. He loved it but is not a fan of seagulls.

The boy made it through his first week of junior year. Here he is in a class pic put on the school’s site. I don’t know how we got here so fast…but away we go.
