Week in Rewind: May 5

Last weekend, we played at Ripken, Aberdeen Maryland. That’s always a really fun weekend. And to be honest, I thought we would play our three games and head home, feeling good if we won a game. But this team is scrappy. On Saturday, they won two games and were sitting as the second seed heading into Sunday.

First game Sunday and the boy’s bat returned. He ripped a double to get us on the scoreboard. We won that game big and then had a date in the semis to get the finals. But alas, the sunny skies turned dark and a cold, pouring rain settled in.

The boy walked and had a single against their fast pitching. But, the game got out of hand early and our boys never recovered. We ended up finishing fourth out of fourteen teams. We’ll take it.

The more important part, Zachary had a blast. He’s really getting to know his new teammates. And he had an amazing cheering section, Mom Mom and Pop Pop came to support. We had so much fun and we always cherish those moments, even in the freezing rain.
