Holiday Party

For the 4th, we headed over to the grandparents for a pool party.  I swear, the boy is turning into a fish. He swam with his cousins for quiet awhile.

The boys then headed inside to play Legos. Lots and lots of Legos.  It is rather cute to watch them play together.

Dinner was amazing. Steak, baked beans, pasta salads, NJ corn does it get any better.  The boy even ate half of  his burger, so starting to get some progress on our protein initiative.

After dinner, Zachary performed a magic show.  On his first trick, he messed up which embarrassed him…but he continued with his show.  Afterward, he bawled about his mess up.  It broke my heart, but it was also a teachable moment.  We talked to him about how life is not always perfect, but how the strong carry on…which he did.  That made me very proud.  As my grandmother used to say, when life gives you lemons…..you make lemonade.

The night ended with birthday cake and gifts  I think the boy made out pretty well on his birthday!  He definitely is well loved
