I know it’s cliche to say that your dog is man’s best friend.  But as I watched Trojan sleep the other day…I was watching my best friend. And as she fights a losing battle, the days become more precious.

It seems like yesterday that we picked up that bright eyed puppy, scared to death to the world. But she latched on to one person..and that just so happened to be me. Let’s be honest we both needed each other

So when I watch her sleeping so intently, I think what a perfect dog. Loyal, athletic, smart, beautiful..the list goes on and on…but to me, the unconditional love is what I love the most. The happy tail wag..the howling, deep bark to say hello..the prancing of her paws on the floor….the positioning herself agsinst me…my super companion.

Our days may be numbered…but we will make the best of them, after all she’s named Trojan for a reason..my little warrior with the tiny heart that could.  Long live my baby girl.
