Spring has arrived, although you wouldn’t know it from the weather. It’s been a bit cold. Last weekend, we celebrated Easter. After church, we went to eat at Springfield Country Club with the family. A nasty rain storm couldn’t deter us. The boy ate well. Afterward, we went back to Mike’s parents. The kids did an egg hunt inside…,funny how the boy who was too cool to do at our house, ran around trying to get the most eggs. I have no idea if he won, but he did negotiate candy swaps.

The boy and I also made a trip to Egg Harbor for the funeral of a work colleague’s dad. Initially, we were just going to do the viewing and leave, but when Miguel asked if staying, we felt compelled to stay. And boy, am I glad we did. His family are all so loving. Gracious people. And to hear his dad’s stories brought happiness to my heart. Z and I went for pizza afterward. And spent the ride home talking about the values of a good life.

So the boy has been on spring break. And with that 9am practices. I took my turn on Thursday and Friday taking him. The dogs and I made the best of it with walks at Bellevue State Park. Great park with nature trails, jogging path and horse stables. We spent 2 days exploring. Refreshing to be outside and breathing fresh air. And a reminder to slow down and take it all in
