Chimney Rock

Today, we’re exploring Nebraska. It really is an incredible contrast in terrain. The eastern side rolling farmlands while it slowly transitions into steeper and steeper elevation. We loved the new look. We’re also pretty sure we drove along the intercontinental rail.

And with the hills came crazier animals, including rattlesnakes. Luckily, we didn’t see any but we did see a scary monkey, not sure if that’s natural habitat.

Our only stop of the day was to Chimney Rock, the point where the three trails crossed. People signed the rock as they passed. And as you would expect, when the wagons got stuck… women pushed from behind while the men steered the oxen.

The boys had a great time photo bombing Chimney Rock.

Zachary and Cameron did a draw off of the rock. Let’s just say I’m pretty sure we don’t Picasso on board.

Pretty fun day. Tomorrow we explore Scott’s Bluff.
We are in this area for the next three days.
